Atomic Bomb

The atomic bomb is based on nuclear energy. Nuclear energy is contained in the center of an atom. It is the mast powerful form of energy that exists. the study of nuclear energy started in 1896  by Antoine Henri Becquerel, a French physicist. An atom-bomb explosion shows how powerful nuclear energy is. An atomic bomb weighs 1 ton and produces an explosion the same sized produced by 3,000,000 tons of TNT.
The first atomic bomb was dropped by the U.S. Military over Hiroshima, a city in southwestern Honshu (Japan's main island) on August 6, 1945 close to the end of WWII. 200,000 people were killed from this bomb. this was also from its radio active fall-out. the second atomic bomb was dropped on August 9, (three days later) in Nagasaki, a city in Kyushu. About 110,000 people died from this atomic bomb.
The Manhattan Project was very big, with many people working on the atomic bomb. Enrico Fermi started to build it. This project took less than three years to create a working atomic bomb.
