RAP MUSIC
IN THE 1980's
There was alot of rap music in the 1980's for example there were alot of
artist like Dr.Dre,Ice T,RUN DMC aloso Aressted Development. Rap music
first developed in the mid 1970's in New York City, and soon in other urban
areas primarily among African Americans teen agers.

The first Rap song was ''Rapper's Delight''(1979)by ''THE SUGAR HILL GANG''.''the
breaks'' (1980) by Kurtis Blow help spred rap's popularity among a wide
audience much early rap was primary concerned with a dance and party spirit.
''The Messege''(1982) by Grandmasterflash and Furious Five took a harder
look at social issues in it's potrayal of black innercity life Acts such
as Public Enemy and Ice Cube have popularized style of rap that are even
more millitant and radical.
The biggest inspiration of rap came form disc jokeys in jamaica who would
talk, or toast, over recorded music they played in clubs. the style, known
as dub, produced popular records that featured disc jokeys talking over
instumental backing and electronic effects.mostly in New York mostly the
disc jokeys play with two turn tables.
